Free to play, fair to play

  • No ads during a flight, and none at all in the tutorial.
  • An occasional ad only between missions. Never after a crash.
  • Optional ads give a second chance after a crash, double coins or a cosmetic to try.
  • One purchase, the Full Game, unlocks every Expedition and removes the ads between missions, for good. The first Expedition is free to try. Optional ammo packs and the Fleet Pass. No subscriptions, no pay-to-win: a flight using bought ammo can earn at most two stars.

Questions, bugs or purchase problems: we read every message.

Common questions

I bought the Full Game, the Supporter Pack or the Fleet Pass. How do I get it back on a new phone?
Open Settings → Restore purchases in the game, signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with. Purchases are tied to your store account, not to the device.
Does the Full Game remove every ad?
It removes the ads shown between missions, and unlocks every Expedition. Optional "watch an ad" rewards (continue after a crash, double coins, try a cosmetic) stay available, because you only see them when you choose to.
How do I change my ad consent or tracking choice?
Players in the EU, UK and Switzerland can open Settings → Privacy options in the game at any time. On iPhone you can also change tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Is my progress saved in the cloud?
Yes, if you sign in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS). The game offers it at start, or later from Settings. Your career (stars, best times, rank and XP, coins, unlocked items and achievements) is then saved to your Play Games or iCloud account and merged when you play on another device signed in to the same account. Settings and purchases aren't part of it. Without signing in, progress is stored only on your device and deleting the app deletes it. Purchases can always be restored from the store.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstall the game. We keep no account or server copy of your progress. If you signed in to Play Games or Game Center, delete the saved game and your activity in the Play Games app or your Google account, or remove the game's data from iCloud in your device settings. For data held by Google's ad services, see the privacy policy.
The ship keeps crashing as soon as I touch the controls.
The ship waits on its pad until your first input. Use short, gentle thrust bursts: gravity is weak but momentum is not. Left-handed controls and vibration settings are in Settings.
How do I steer? Can I tilt the phone instead?
By default you steer with the on-screen stick (on the left, or on the right with Left-handed controls): push it the way you want to turn. Settings → Joystick offers several stick styles. To steer by tilting, choose Settings → Steer with → Tilt and hold the phone like a steering wheel: the ship's nose follows its lean, and holding it level keeps the ship upright. Tap the steering half of the screen to make your current grip the new level. Tilt mode and sensitivity are in Settings too. Phones without a motion sensor always use the stick.

About the game

The jump gate has gone dark and seven settlements are cut off deep underground. As the newest pilot of Operation Lifeline you fly a tiny cargo tug through narrow caves, hook a heavy pod on a line and bring both home. The pod swings with every burn, a hard knock ends the run, and every drop of fuel counts.

The team

Narrow Haul is made by one developer at . Every build is play-tested and signed off by a crew of young test pilots, credited on the game's first screen as Approved by.

Privacy Policy

Narrow Haul · Last updated:

In short: the game has no accounts of its own and keeps your progress on your device; if you sign in to Google Play Games or Apple Game Center, a copy is also saved in your Play Games or iCloud account so you can carry on on another device. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID with your consent where the law requires it. Crash reports and anonymous gameplay statistics (no personal details) help us fix bugs and balance levels. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

1. Who we are

Narrow Haul ("the game") is published by . Contact us at for any privacy question or request.

2. What the game stores on your device

Your progress (stars, best times, pilot rank and XP, coins, unlocked cosmetics, tow gear and handling kits, carried weapon ammo, achievements, daily challenge and contract state) and your settings (sound, music, vibration, steering and camera, minimap) are saved locally on your device. Your save itself is not sent to us (anonymous gameplay statistics are described in section 6). Uninstalling the game deletes the copy on your device.

Google Play Games and Apple Game Center. On Android the game signs in to Google Play Games, and on iOS to Apple Game Center, if you use them (you can decline, or sign in later from Settings). When you are signed in, a copy of your career (stars, best times, rank and XP, coins, unlocked items and achievements; not your settings or purchases) is saved as a Play Games saved game or in your iCloud account, so you can continue on another device; your achievements and your total stars (for the star leaderboard) are shown on your Play Games or Game Center profile. This uses your Play Games or Game Center player profile, which Google or Apple manage under their own privacy policies (Google, Apple); we don't receive your profile or saved game. You can delete the saved game and your Play Games activity in the Play Games app or your Google account, or remove the game's data from iCloud in your device settings.

When you steer by tilting, the game reads your phone's motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) only while you fly. The readings are used on the spot to turn the ship and are never stored or sent anywhere.

Reminders. If you say yes to the game's "Radio calls" question or turn on Settings → Reminders, the game schedules reminder notifications on your device (for example when the daily dispatch is posted), at most one a day, at about the time you usually play. They are created by the game itself on your phone: no notification service or server is involved, and no push token or other identifier is sent anywhere. You can turn them off in Settings or in your phone's notification settings.

The game has no user accounts of its own and does not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, camera or microphone.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The game is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. To deliver, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:

Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options. On iOS, the game asks for permission before using the IDFA for tracking; if you decline, ads are not personalized. You can also reset or limit the advertising ID in your device settings.

Google acts as an independent controller of this data. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Purchases

Optional purchases (the Full Game, Supporter Pack, Fleet Pass, and the Demolition Kit and Arsenal Crate ammo packs) are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment details. The store tells the game which products you own so they can be unlocked and restored. Ammo packs are delivered to your device's Armory once per purchase; like other in-game items they can't be restored after the game is deleted.

5. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

When the game crashes or hits an unexpected error, it sends a crash report through Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the bug. A report contains the error and where in the code it happened, the device model, operating system and app version, and a random installation identifier. It does not contain your name, contacts, location or advertising ID, and it is not used for advertising.

6. Gameplay statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To see which levels are too hard, where players get stuck and whether the game runs well, the game sends anonymous usage events through Google Analytics for Firebase. They include:

These events are not linked to your name, email or any account, are not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and are not used to personalize ads. Where the law requires it, Google's consent signals from Settings → Privacy options limit how Firebase uses ad-related data. Google processes this data on our behalf; see Privacy and Security in Firebase.

9. Children

The game is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through an ad interaction, contact us and we will help with the request to Google.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because the game keeps no personal data on our side, most requests are handled by uninstalling the game, changing Privacy options in the game, or contacting Google about ad data.
